Friday 3/30/12

Had a nice morning but not enough showed for the afternoon. Caught some nice keeper bass and some shorts with a few flounder mixed in. Pool winner was 22 lbs and Danny Comerford of Scranton P A was high hook with 4 keeper bass to 18 lbs. Here are some pics of the catch.

Past weekend report

We did sail Saturday morning but not the afternoon as the weather was not like Friday's beautiful weather and the fish reacted the same way. A few larger fish were caught as we tried other areas including this 3 lb 7oz 18 incher by Kevin Kolovich of Freehold. Sunday was a washout and we did not get enough fares to go. We we will start a daily schedule on Friday March 30 sailing 2 half day trips for Flounder and Striped bass so bring a little heavier equiptment. As always this time of year pick the nicer days if you can so you are not the only one showing up to go fishing. March 23 Flounder opening day

Yes the flounder are here but not in the numbers they used to be especially at these water temps. Slow pick all day and a beautiful one it was gave just about everyone fish to take home. High hook and pool winner John Doll of N Middletown who led the pack by taking his limit out of 8 keepers and 4 shorts. Although we thought the afternoon trip would be more productive with warmer temps we were disapointed but we did manage more fish than fisherpeople. Going to give it another go tomorow and go from there. Maybe natures competition is helping us delete the poulation a little more than realized, but of course our regulators do not want to know about other predators like seals, which we saw today. March 21 2012 Lets go Fishing

Happy Spring everyone. We are now out of hybernation and back in the harbor getting ready to sail. We will begin our season on March 23 on the half day schedule, sailng Friday, Saturday & Sunday for winter Flounder ( for now), depending on the results. Our daily schedule will begin some time later next week. Look foward to seeing some of you this weekend.
