Friday 7/27 P M turnaround

After a  morning with ok action but not alot of keepers we went back out with half  the number of fares that we had in the morning and ended up catching three times the amount of keepers.  Dennis Mc Ginness of  Middletown got his limit and the pool with a 6 lber.  Tommy Loriello of Freehold topped that by taking his limit out of the 8 keepers he caught. Jigging the spros with gulp was the hot ticket but fish we also caught on bait. Looks like a week of not so great weather coming up but we will still be sailing if enough show so come on down and enjoy the elbow room. here are pics from Friday. P. S. I did finish the last report, Lee tops Lee by not telling you that Jimmy Lee of Palasaides Park had the previous biggest fish of 11.5 lbs.

7/25/12 Lee tops Lee

Hi everybody, its that time of year again that its hard to write posts daily unless something drastically changes.  This morning Roger Lee of Parlin  topped our (and the harbor's) previous biggest fish for this year with a 12 lb 2oz doormat  fluke,  way to go Roger. Fishing overall has been just ok the last couple days and the fish have moved out or been caught up in the Navy pier area. We will be looking in other areas when the conditions permit so come on down and be on board when we find a new batch of fish. Here are a couple of recent pictures including Roger's and Amanda Lambert's of Parsippany pool winner.

Update top 7/15

Hi everybody, the fishing has been ok the past week or so since most of the fish are in the bay and we can make long drifts picking at shorts and keepers mixed in when the conditions are right. On  Saturday's A M trip John Mundjer landed a 9 lb 11 oz beauty even with  all the boats in the SHBA fluke tournament around us. That was followed by John Doll's  6.5 lber and a nice catch of fish for the morning. On the afternoon trip 10 yr old Jared Terefenko of Lincroft showed up dad and grandpa by catching 3 of their 4 keepers and also winning the pool. Here are those pics and some from the past week or two.

Update of last few days to 7/5

Had decent fishing the last two mornings with almost 40 keepers a on Weds and 30 on Thurs but less productive afternoons.  Thurs afternoon though we did have one drift where Tom Orr of Mt. Laurel caught a 7 1/4 lber, then Jeff Mathis of S.I. caught a 8 1/2 lber  and then at the end of the drift Jack McGowen of Stony Pt. N.Y. caught a 9 lber. Try and top that drift.  Here are some pictures of those fish and others caught recently including (teacher) Bob Sabo with his pool winner. Also the strange fish pics from the last report.

6/30 & 7/1 report and pics

The catching slowed up a bit since thurs and fri but we are still putting a catch together. Of course on weekends there are many more boats to contend with and the areas we fish get cleaned up faster.  The excessive heat warnings seemed to keep the people away on the afternoon trips but honestly it reall was not bad out on the water with a constant breeze. Pool winners are averaging  5 - 6 lbs but on Sunday afternoon  Tommy Lorello of Frehold got a 6 1/2 lber that was beat out by Lou  Pawlikowski of Colonia 7 lber. Here are some recent photos including a strange discolored fluke and an oceanic puffer that is rare in this area.
