Fantastic Friday

  We had 2 very good drifts in the morning to give us one one the best trips of the year keeper wise with one  guy with a limit and many catching 2 or 3 keepers. The afternoon was good  with not as many keepers but some quality fish.  Pat Lamb took top honors with an 8 1/4 lber followed by Bob Sabo with a 7 lb 10 oz doormat. Mike Webber had 2 at 5 lbs and Sean Pearl a 5 1/4 lber. There will be a  lot of boats out today with a tournament going on but we will do our best to put you on the fish. Here are some pics.

Weds -Thurs reports

  

  Not great fishing on Weds as far as keepers go but still decent short action. Conditions is the key having the right ones in the places one wants to fish. But at least 9 yr old Kailee Seeley of Vernon caught her first keeper of 4 3/4 lbs. Nancy Nelson  also got 2 keepers  at 4  and  4 1/2 lbs. Morning and afternoon trips were about the same.  Thurs morning, however,we had the right conditions and got a good catch of keepers with Jean Farwell of town boating 4 keepers including a 5 and a 5 1/2 lber. Bob Kievet, 2 keepers including the 6 lb pool winner. Bob Goracy got 2 keepers at 3 and 4 1/2 lbs. In the afternoon it was wind against tide again so where we fished to get a good drift we had good short action but not a lot of keepers. Bob Caputo did manage a 5 3/4 lber but got beat  by Steve Goetz with a 6 lber. for the pool. Here are some pics.

Tues 8/5

   We did not have much of a drift with wind against tide even though weather man predicted an opposite wind. Picked some shorts and a few keepers aroound the boat as we tried different areas to find a drift. Bill Sleven of Washington took the pool and the Waibel family of 3 generations ended with a couple of keepers. On the afternoon trip we had much better conditions and put a nice catch together. John Martin of Matawan took the pool with a 6 lber. Bob Coughlan got 3 fish to 5 3/4 lbs, Rob Ryoul 3 fish to 4 1/2 lbs and Shawn Pearl 4 fish to 4 lbs but should have  had his limit if  had not  switched  baits.  There were quite a few others around the boat  so here are toe pics.

Manic Monday

  Headed out with conditions that were going to be tough, wind against tide after the first drift. Power drifted a little gathering up some shorts and a few keepers. Moved out to catch more current and found a little patch of fish that we worked on and ended up with an ok catch for the ways its been. Eddie Garcia caught the first keeper and went on to catch 2 more including the pool fish. Picked away at shorts and keepers even with the slow drift. On the afternoon trip same conditions but had more time with the wind and tide together before the change of tide. Mike caught a few beauties including a 6 lber  but couldn't beat Braden Niper who got the pool and had 3 keepers.  Here are some pics.

End of last week and weekend

   Not too much to report, still catching quite a few shorts  but getting tougher to gather up some keepers as most of you know.  Some anglers are getting 10 to 20 shorts and some can get 2 or 3 keepers like Pat Lamb on Friday who had 3 including a 5 lber and a 8 1/4 lber. Mike Di Santos got a 4 1/2 lber (wife Karissa holding fish in pic) that morning too but then the weather turned on us for the weekend. Because of the winds and tides we could only fish one part of the bay on Saturday but went to other areas on Sunday and had a better catch. This week looks good weather wise so come on down.
