Weds 7/30 report and oops.

I did not realize that on Tues afternoon we did better than I thought. Art ended up with 3 keepers not 2 and pool winner John Mundjer  caught his limit of 5.  Wednesday morning was also a good trip with quite a few decent fish caught. Doug Green  5 1/2 and 4 1/2 lbers, Charles Irving 5 1/2 lber, Lenny Kibb 5 lber,  Bill Slevin 4 1/4 lber. We also had other keepers and lots of shorts. On the afternoon trip it was not as good even though we went to the same areas as the day before. Kevin O'Callahan of Bayone took the pool with a 5 3/4 lber  topping  Hassan Diwane of Westfield who caught a 5 1/4 lber. Some other keepers and less short action but we also had a slower drift.  Here are some pics.

Tues 7/29

We had a good pick of shorts in the morning before Walter Abromski of Bridgewater nailed a beauty that held up to be the pool fish. Not too many keepers in the morning but we did manage twice as many in the afternoon. Art Hoover of Sayerville came up with a couple around 41/2 to 5 lbs but was beat out by John Mundjer's pool fish of 6 lbs. Here are yesterdays pics and the missing pic of  Saturday morning's pool fish by Jaysen Jackson holding his two beauties.

Sat, Sun and Monday

We had a busy Saturday and Sunday morning was ok too thanks to  a group from the VFW. The afternoon trip was light as were both trips on Monday, barely making it out in the afternoon. Jaysen Jackson of Matawan took the honors on Sat morning with 2 fish about 6 lbs (picture missing but will be added). In the afternoon Mary took the pool with her one fish late in the day. Sunday morning Pat Lamb of Springfield got 3 keepers including the pool and another Pat also had 3 keepers. Johnathan Harmon took the pool on the afternoon trip and again on Monday morning with a 6 1/2 lber and 2 other keepers. In the afternoon John Porzio got it  with his only keeper. Here are some pics.

More pics of last couple days

Thurs - Friday

The short action is good at times with a rare keeper mixed in in some areas so  some times we have to hit other area that have a few more keepers but not the action. Still some nice fish coming up to 7 1/2 lbs. that Mike Klien caught yesterday morning. In the afternoon we had 2 over 6 lbs. and Bob Coughlan got the pool the afternoon before with one over 6 lbs. Even 8 year old Kevin Senzamici, excited they just made the boat, got into the action catching some shorts and his first keeper fishing with dad and grandpa so they went home with 3. Got a lot of pics to put up so I will add them in another report. I'm starting with yesterday afternoon  on back.

Last few days since weekend

There  has not been that much to say about the fishing the last few days since it remains the same. At times there is a decent pick of shorts with a odd keeper in the mix and other times its just an odd fish. The last few mornings have been better than the afternoons but yesterday Jenna Pizzamenti from Clifton caught a 5 lber on each of the last two drifts but Dave Loccisio took the pool with a 6 lber. Sue Mozdierz of Leonardo with her keeper the day before and also pictured are Tom Ahern of Denville and Richie O  of Jersey City. If your look for a day with a lot of room on the boat, pick one where the weatherman says chance of thunder storms like yesterday afternoon. We never had one and did not have a drop of rain. Here are the pics.

Weekend report

Cloudy cool weather  on Saturday with easterly winds made it feel like fall. Sunday the sun came out in the afternoon but was still on the cool side. Same fishing as we have had with some areas producing keepers with a few shorts and other areas quite a few shorts with only an occasional keeper. The afternoons were a little better with Pat Lamb taking the pool on a snapper. Sunday afternoon we stayed close but picked every drift with Rich Hammond of Hazlet taking the pool with his 7 lber. A few other nice ones were boated like John Frank's, shown in  green shirt,  with lots of short action. One angler told me he had over 20 shorts but no keepers. Here are a few pics.
