Weds 7/9 & Thurs 7/10 Tough grind but...

The last couple of days the "catching"  has been on the tough side. Weather it was the conditions or just that not a lot of fish are moving in to the areas we are working,  fishing could be better. Some keepers and shorts with some  but not the action we like to see. On the up side we are fishing close to home in comfortable conditions and not in the ocean. We have been seeing the bluefish boats from Belmar and Point Pleasant / Manasquan area fishing next to us and that is along ride. On Weds we did have a few nice blues hit the lines boating a few and losing some to bite offs. Yesterday afternoon though, we found a patch of fish and put together a catch with Johnathan Harmon of Middletown taking the pool with a 7 lb 13 oz mat along with 3 other nice keepers. Bob Caputo of Lawrence Harbor took the high hook honors taking his limit out of the 6 keepers he caught. I have been wanting to coin a phrase I made up "fishing is like the stock market, don't wait for it to get good before you get  in. Be there when it does." Here are the pics on the next post.
